CFK in the spotlight

"Thank you for such a wonderful program. It is amazing to see Adam, at age 7, strategize as he learns to play the game. What you are teaching goes beyond the game of chess, it impacts the way the kids learn.
Keep up the great work!
--Connie Kane, Penngrove Elementary Parent

"CHESS FOR KIDS has really helped improve my daughter's ability to focus, and improved her self-confidence!"
-- Sylvia Matthews, Cali parent.

"Hi Jolie!

"A student that I have watched attend the Chess for kids workshops for several months played me in a simultaneous game with several other students. He came the closest out of all the kids, some of them several years older, to beating me. After class, I told his mother this and how impressed I was with his evolving ability. She thought that chess was something he liked to do after school, but had no idea he was good at it. I know of one thing certain in this uncertain world: the look of pride in a mothers eyes."

Inspiring chess stories from CFK instructors:

"I just taught my 6 year old niece to play chess. The family kept saying.. "I don't know, she's still pretty young!" I said, "Don't worry, she'll understand what she understands and we won't go any faster than that". We played for over 4 hours! I thought "Should I bring out the Demo board for one student?" and I did, I brought it out and gave her the full works - she loved it! Loved the "big teaching board". She even wanted to know about the letters and numbers on the side and then had Heather and I play a game with each other on the Demo board and insisted that we call our moves out loud using the algebraic system so that she could then move the pieces on the demo board for us (she likes to play "teacher")".

CHESS SETS MAKE GREAT GIFTS!
If you order at Wholesale Chess, through our website, Chess For Kids will receive non-profit points towards the cost of chess equipment for our program.  We recommend the "Club" style chess sets.  They have a vinyl mat board with the notation letters and numbers that reinforces what we teach. The sets come in different colors with handy carrying bags. The best deal are the sets that come with the "Missing Piece Guarantee".  They will replace up to 7 pieces FREE per color. Themed chess sets, such as dragons or characters,  sometimes are difficult to determine which piece is which....so think ahead for the holidays, and help CHESS FOR KIDS grow:)
Chess Sets make greate gifts year round.
